FAQ about Joint Pain

Q. What is arthritis?

A. There are different types of joint pain. Each type decreases the quality of life and causes minor to severe pain. This pain causes stiffness and swelling in any joint.

Q. What are the types of joint pain? What is your diagnosis?

A.

  • Gout
  • Juvenile
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Psoriatic
  • Septic
  • Rheumatoid
  • Spondylitis
  • Reactive

Q. What is Integrative Medicine?

A. Integrated medicine focuses on the whole person and their lifestyle. In addition, integrative medicine works with other medical partners, such as primary and specialized care associates, to benefit the patient.

Q. Isn't joint pain a fact of aging?

A. Yes and no. While you may develop joint pain as you age, it can affect younger people.

Q. What is the treatment?

A. Since everyone's body is different, everyone reacts to pain differently with various degrees of pain thresholds. Therefore, no one responds to treatment the same, nor does everyone overcome arthritis pain similarly. Some options for joint pain can include, but are not limited to, an examination of joint health, medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, gentle stretches, chiropractic care, massage therapy, hydro massage, ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, spinal decompression, corrective exercises, nutritional counseling, and custom orthotics.

Q. Does everyone receive the same treatment?

A. No, everyone is different. Your plan of care is individualized for you and no one else. Therefore, a treatment option that works for someone else may not work for you.
